The Fine Print is an alternative bimonthly publication based in Gainesville, FL. Our mission is to serve the Gainesville community by providing an independent outlet for political, social and arts coverage through original, local and in-depth reporting.

We’re not affiliated with any university, nor do we make any money. We do what we do because we care and we love it.

How are we funded?
Private donations and grants from Campus Progress – a division of The Center for American Progress – and some sick house parties and benefit shows.

Where can you find us?
Aside from our website, we have newspaper boxes on campus and around town, including but not limited to Library West, Turlington Plaza, Weimer Hall, Beaty Towers, Target Copy, and Maude’s. If you want to keep track of events and stories we publish, “like” us on Facebook page and/or follow us on Twitter @thefineprintuf.

Getting Involved
We’re always looking for talented, dedicated and creative people to join our staff. Opportunities available include writing/reporting, graphic design, photography, audio and video production, illustration, event planning and fundraising. If you have an idea to build upon what we do, we’d love to hear that, too.

If you’re interested in joining our staff, please fill out our staff application here and e-mail editors@thefineprintuf.org with (2) samples of your work.

Spring 2012 positions that we need to fill:

- Assistant web editor…updating the website daily is a lot of work for one person. But for two, hey, there’s a deal! Get the experience to possibly advance to web editor in the near future while helping our current web editor get some much-needed sleep.

As always, any other roles you’re looking to fill, just shoot us an e-mail.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at editors@thefineprintuf.org. Freelance submissions or story pitches should also be sent to this email.
